“Hey, I can help you! I'm free for a couple weeks.”
― Radford, to Kevin in Spooky Month 6 - Hollow Sorrows.
Radford is a minor character in the Spooky Month series, debuting in Spooky Month 4 - Deadly Smiles.
Biography[]
Spooky Month 4 - Deadly Smiles[]
Radford appears in the movie theater, working alongside Rick Hedony. While Radford is offscreen, Skid and Pump ask Rick if they can go to watch a horror movie, to which he says no. After asking if they can watch a kid's movie instead, he lets them in. Because Rick isn't watching them, they sneak into the horror movie anyway. Radford, now onscreen and watching the kids retreat down the hall, reminds Rick it is his turn to take the tickets, informs him the kids have snuck into the horror movie, then yells at him for not doing his job correctly. Rick quits in response, as usual.
Spooky Month 6 - Hollow Sorrows[]
Radford first appears after walking into CandyClub after Skid and Pump knock down a tower of candy cans that Kevin had just finished stacking. Radford asks Kevin if he needs help cleaning up, and the camera cuts away.
In the next scene showing CandyClub, he is leaning against the counter, telling Kevin that he isn't surprised Rick quit. He offers to help Kevin out, citing that he's "free for a couple weeks", but Kevin tells him the job is awful because of Skid and Pump. On cue, Skid and Pump arrive with Father Gregor and try to pay Kevin back for all the free candy they got over the years. The amount of money shocks Kevin and Radford, with Radford stooping to count it. When Kevin says they don't need to pay, Radford offers to give them free candy. Despite Kevin’s worry, Radford waves him away nonchalantly and tells him he’ll pay for it.
After Father Gregor tells the kids to not accept more candy, Radford excitedly asks him if he's a priest, then ask why he's there in the first place. After he answers, Radford gets more excited and says that he sounds like the priests in the movies. After Kevin points out that it's weird for an old man to be hanging around children, Radford frowns and shakes his head at Father Gregor, but becomes happy again once Father Gregor gives them a vial of holy water as a parting gift. To explain the vial to Kevin, he begins to “bless” CandyClub with the holy water as a joke, making a mess (and Kevin frustrated) - but soon after, customers begin to flood in. After exclaiming that the holy water must have worked, Radford dons a CandyClub uniform to help Kevin with these new customers.
Radford makes a final quick appearance during Moloch's rampage across the town. After Moloch possesses Kevin and begins to destroy CandyClub, Radford walks out from the back room, confused by the mess and the noise. After the possessed Kevin roars at him, he screams and splashes him in the face with the holy water out of fear, causing Moloch to vacate Kevin’s body and crash through a wall. Radford stares on in disbelief as Skid, Pump, and Father Gregor chase after him, then looks back at Kevin in concern and shock as Kevin recovers from the possession.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Casual[]
Radford has an oval-shaped head with fluffy blonde hair and a small mole on his right cheek that matches his little brother’s. He is always seen wearing a pair of 3D glasses, with a blue-lensed right eye and a red-lensed left eye.
In his casual attire, Radford wears a light blue collared polo shirt, a black belt with a grey buckle, dark grey pants, and black shoes.
In the 2023 Halloween Art drawn by Pelo, he is shown wearing a Ghostface costume, though his hair is still visible and he wears 3D glasses over the mask.
Uniforms[]
Radford's movie theater uniform consists of a long-sleeved white button-up with a collar, and the same belt, pants, and shoe combo as his casual outfit. Over the white button-up, he wears a red vest with gold trim on both the sleeves and lining. He also wears a black bowtie.
Radford's CandyClub uniform consists of a short-sleeved white button-up shirt, and the same belt, pants, and shoe combo as his casual outfit. He wears a pink bowtie with a swirl on the center, and a CandyClub hat that is shaped like a sailor's cap, featuring a light blue stripe at the bottom and the CandyClub logo in the center.
Personality[]
Even though Radford is typically in a better mood than those around him, he also seems fairly balanced and chill. He converses with Kevin and the children with a positive, lighthearted demeanor and a smile, but not one that is necessarily excitable until he notices Gregor and starts to connect the situation to his interests.
Radford is a huge cinephile, considering how excited he gets whenever his interests are brought up (i.e.: Father Gregor seeming “just like the priests in the movies”). Further evidence is the fact he works at a movie theater and wears retro 3D glasses at all times. Many fans have speculated that he is neurodivergent due to just how excited he gets over movies, although this has yet to be confirmed by Pelo.
Radford also seems to be a kind and helpful person. He offers to help Kevin out at CandyClub after seeing the knocked-over display and hearing how stressed he’s been. He also offers to pay for Skid and Pump’s candy, though he doesn’t end up doing this after Skid and Pump are forbidden by Father Gregor to get more. Radford seems to be very responsible at work, especially when Rick was not doing his job. Additionally, in Hollow Sorrows, when the customers start pouring in, he immediately stops playing around and goes to change into the Candyclub uniform in order to help.
