“Would you kids help a poor lonely candy dealer?”
― The Candy Dealer, to Skid and Pump
The Candy Dealer is a minor antagonist in the Spooky Month series, debuting in Spooky Month 3 - Unwanted Guest and the Newgrounds ending of Spooky Month 6 - Hollow Sorrows.
Biography[]
Spooky Month 3 - Unwanted Guest[]
He first appeared when he asked Skid and Pump if they can help him, which they applied with a sure. He then gives the "sugar" (might be cocaine) to them so they can take it to the Candy store. Skid and Pump then played dead, then some random person is yelling while accusing The Candy Dealer while he carefully tip-toed away…
Spooky Month 6 - Hollow Sorrows[]
He appeared only in the true ending where the Two Thieves are delivering some kind or Progress report about their endeavours, Then the Cultists appeared while The Thief duo said that they were ambushed and ran from Lila after encountering a giant Spider. Then the Cult Members whisper amongst themselves and depart, with The Candy Dealer telling the thieves that they are "running out of luck" before also leaving.
This ending is NEVER shown in Toxie’s version, allegedly out of spite
Profile[]
Appearance[]
The "Candy Dealer's" physical appearance is unknown as a result of his outfit. He constantly wears a reddish-brown full-body trench coat that hides his body, and a reddish-brown wide-brimmed hat that conceals his face. Both of his eyes are tinted pink, and he is always seen with a stick in his mouth, probably smoking pot. He seems to wear black gloves underneath his coat.
Personality[]
Because of his limited screen time, not much can be discerned about the Candy Dealer. He seems to be a fairly serious and cool-headed individual. He tricks kids to help him sell "candy" (actually drugs).
Trivia[]
- Some people have theorized that the Candy Dealer is the Monster from Friday Night Funkin' because of their similar eye colors and similar tone of voice. The Monster also tricked Skid and Pump into distracting the game's main protagonists, similar to how the Candy Dealer tricked them into delivering some of his goods to the Candy Club.
- Others have posited that the Candy Dealer is actually John, since the two have the same voice actor, having a similar eye shape, similar trenchcoat and the Candy Dealer's lollipop stick looking similar to John's cigarette. However, the height difference, John's house being burnt to the ground by the same cult, and lastly, the revelation that the Candy Dealer is a member of the Cult himself, this is highly unlikely.
- A doodle done by Pelo shows The Hatzgang as another suspect as to the Candy Dealer’s identity, as Ross also has a similar eye shape as the Candy Dealer. They are also never seen with the Candy dealer, further hinting at this.
- In the Kevin's Dream Job short, the second signature on the contract Kevin signs seems to resemble the Candy Dealer's hat and trenchcoat.[1]
